Last week it was thread balls (mine's still not finished...), this week a sake factory (brewery?).
Off to Kyoto to the Fushimi area, known for it's Sake with over 200 factories. Interestingly, the shrine there is dedicated to rice. Hummm...
Sake needs just two ingredients - pure water and rice. Fushimi is known for it's pure water, it's in the basin area of the mountains.
We toured, saw how it used to be made (though not any more) and tasted. Dangerous. I could develop a taste for sake. The type we tried had such a clear taste, no burn, no after taste. Lovely.
