Made My Day

Today was "Famous Person Day" at school. A dress up day organised by the middle and high school student council. As my colleague was welcoming all our (kindergarten) children to school she was commenting on all their costumes. We had a cheerleader, a famous disc jockey (with no name but he was famous all the same), a famous (nameless) car driver, Hello Kitty (dressed in Hello Kitty merchandise), a famous Japanese person (dressed in a yukata), famous Chinese girl (beautiful Chinese dress), a girl with "famous hair" - her short hair, for the first time, had a little ponytail. I was at the door checking their backpacks and everyone was busily chatting about their "costumes".

I had not dressed up, was just wearing my regular school clothes. One my boys got to me, looked at me and said "and you're a famous princess".

Aww...
